Agawam Council (Camp Agawam) (2017-2018)

Camp Agawam, founded in 1919 and located on Crescent Lake in Raymond, Maine, is a traditional seven-week summer camp for boys. We were hired to plan and facilitate a retreat focused on governance for the Agawam Council Board of Directors, which governs the camp.

Aquaculture Research Institute at the University of Maine (2018)

Aquaculture Research Institute at the University of Maine brings together researchers and faculty from multiple disciplines to enable UMaine’s aquaculture research portfolio to embrace the entire innovation development pipeline. We were hired to facilitate two strategic planning retreats.

Auburn City Council (2018)

The Auburn City Council wanted to make a long term holistic plan for a Senior Community Center and senior programming, and the Council wanted to hear directly from the community to help develop the plan. We were hired to facilitate a workshop of the Council to consider community input and decide how to proceed. We also prepared a complete report of the workshop.

Brunswick Housing (2018)

Brunswick Housing Authority provides safe, quality and affordable housing for eligible persons in need of assistance, while  promoting opportunities for community growth and development. We were hired to plan and facilitate a workshop for Brunswick Housing Authority.

Cape Elizabeth, Town of (2018)

We were hired to plan and moderate two public forums to discuss paper streets and shore access in this waterfront community in southern Maine.

Casco Bay Nutrient Council (2017-2019)

Convened by the Casco Bay Estuary Partnership, the purpose of the Casco Bay Nutrient Council is to develop recommendations to policy makers, regulators, and funders on how best to manage the impacts of nutrients on Casco Bay in southern Maine. We have been hired to plan and facilitate a series of Nutrient Council meetings to help the Council achieve its purpose.

Cheverus High School (2018)

We facilitated a back-to-school professional development workshop for faculty and staff on communications.

 

CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) (2018)

For the eleventh year in a row, CIEE hired Craig to facilitate a multi-day retreat among regional directors from all over the country. In these retreats we reviewed the past year, planned for the future, and built teamwork skills with fun activities.

Community Clinical Services (2018)

Community Clinical Services is the Federally Qualified Health Center serving the Lewiston/Auburn area of Maine, providing medical, behavioral, and pediatric dental services to people regardless of ability to pay. We were hired to facilitate a strategic planning board retreat, and prepared a complete report.

Community Health Leadership Board (2018)

The Community Health Leadership Board (CHLB) is a partnership of hospitals, healthcare providers, and the city of Bangor, Maine, acting as a collective catalyst for improved health, hopefulness, resiliency, and innovation in the Bangor region. We were hired to facilitate a CHLB retreat to discuss strategies to address the community’s opioid crisis.

Community Health Options (2018)

Community Health Options is a non-profit, member-led health insurance plan providing comprehensive health insurance benefits to individuals, families, and businesses. We were hired to facilitate an Executive Team Retreat and a retreat among the Executive Team, Executive Vice Presidents, and Directors.

Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District (2018)

In collaboration with Cumberland County, the Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting a meeting of the Regional Clean Water Collaborative. We were hired to help plan and facilitate the meeting.

Dragon Cement (2010-2019)

This Thomaston, Maine producer of cement products retains us to facilitate a community advisory panel. The group meets quarterly and serves as a forum for learning and dialogue between plant managers and community leaders.

DuPont (2005-2019)

DuPont (formerly FMC) manufactures carrageenan in Rockland, Maine. As part of its Responsible Care initiative, the company retains us to facilitate a community advisory panel. The group meets every two months and serves as a forum for learning and dialogue between plant managers and community leaders.

Educatius (2018)

Educatius facilitates international academic exchange for high school and university students. Craig was hired to lead sessions on leadership and teamwork at their annual training conference for Regional Managers and Local Coordinators, held in 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Emera Maine (2017-2018)

Emera Maine is an electric transmission and distribution utility serving northern and eastern Maine. We were hired to facilitate a series of interactive, participant-driven training sessions on positive peer-to-peer communications among employees in a variety of roles.

Emera Maine is an electric transmission and distribution utility serving northern and eastern Maine. We were hired to facilitate a team building workshop for Emera Maine Human Resources staff.

Falmouth (2018)

We were hired to plan and facilitate a Growth-Density Evaluation Forum for the town of Falmouth.  The primary purpose of the Forum was to hear residents’ concerns relative to growth, density, and residential zoning as requested by Falmouth Town Council.

Falmouth Town Council (2018)

Falmouth is a southern coastal Maine community that celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2018. We were hired to plan and facilitate the annual summer retreat of the Falmouth Town Council for the seventh year in a row. During these annual retreats Council members discuss priorities for the year, and build relationships and enthusiasm for the work ahead.

Freeport Historical Society (2018)

The Freeport Historical Society preserves and teaches about the history of Freeport, Maine, including maintaining historic properties, archives, and artifact collections. We were hired to facilitate a strategic thinking session of the Board of Trustees to discuss plans for the future.

Gardiner City Council (2018)

As they have in the past, the Gardiner City Council hired us to facilitate a workshop to take stock of recent accomplishments, update Council interaction guidelines, and establish Council goals for the coming year. Gardiner is a city of about 6,000 on the banks of the Kennebec River in Maine.

Healthy Northern Kennebec (2018)

Healthy Northern Kennebec works on issues surrounding nutrition, substance use, and community health in the region around Waterville, Maine. Craig was hired to offer a communications workshop on “Keeping Your Cool in Heated Conversations.”

Highland Lake Association (2018)

Highland Lake is a 623-acre lake on the town line between Windham and Falmouth, Maine. We were hired to help plan and facilitate a public forum about the lake.

KPFF / Casco Bay Lines (2017-2018)

Casco Bay Lines operates year-round passenger, vehicle, and freight service to six Casco Bay islands in southern Maine. Casco Bay Lines hired engineering firm KPFF to review and make improvements to ferry schedules and services. We partnered with KPFF to provide stakeholder input facilitation and related services for the project.

Lewiston High School (2018)

Lewiston High School serves 1300 students in Lewiston, Maine. We were hired to facilitate a meeting of the Lewiston High School Management Team to help establish a vision and mission for the team.

Main Street Bath (2017-2018)

“Main Street” is a nationwide program focusing on revitalization of traditional downtowns. The City of Bath, Maine, is one of the original Main Street Maine communities. Main Street Bath, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation guided by a board composed of representatives of the downtown business community, the City government, and community leaders. We were hired to help Main Street Bath with a strategic planning process that included stakeholder input gathering and facilitated decision-making meetings.

Maine CDC and Central Maine Regional Resource Center (2018)

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Public Health Emergency Preparedness Unit analyzes public health vulnerabilities in areas such as disease, terrorism, weather events, and much more. The Central Maine Regional Resource Center is one of Maine’s three Regional Resource Centers, charged with developing comprehensive plans for coordinated healthcare response to public health emergencies within the region. We were hired to facilitate an HVA (“Hazard Vulnerability Analysis”) meeting among 40 regional stakeholders to discuss and score the relative risks of potential hazardous events and situations in Central Maine. We also prepared a Complete Report of the meeting which included discussion comments as well as the scoring data.

Maine Children’s Alliance (2018)

The Maine Children’s Alliance promotes sound policies and best practices to make sure all Maine children have the resources and opportunity to reach their full potential from birth to adulthood. We were hired to plan and facilitate a strategic discussion among board and staff members to address priorities and action steps for the future. We also provided a complete report.

Maine Coast Sea Vegetables (2013-2019)

Located on the beautiful Downeast coast, Maine Coast Sea Vegetables harvests, dries, and sells about 100,000 pounds of certified organic sea vegetables annually. We were hired by this socially and environmentally conscious company to facilitate a series of long-range planning meetings among senior staff. We also facilitated all-staff meetings to discuss company changes and provided coaching and related services to leadership staff.

Maine Coast Sea Vegetables and Atlantic Mariculture (2018)

Maine Coast Sea Vegetables and Atlantic Mariculture are two companies that harvest and sell certified organic sea vegetables, located respectively on the coast of Downeast Maine and on the island of Grand Manan, New Brunswick. Craig was hired to facilitate a retreat between leaders at the two companies to discuss mutual opportunities and challenges for the future.

Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation (2018)

In the interest of protecting Maine citizens, the Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation licenses, examines, and audits financial institutions, the insurance industry, and numerous other professions and occupations providing services to the public. We were hired to facilitate a workshop on conflict management as part of a leadership training program for the Department.

Maine Health Data Organization (MHDO) Ad Hoc Consumer Group (2016-2018)

The Maine Health Data Organization (MHDO) is a state agency that collects health care data for the purpose of research, policy development, and health care improvements. We were hired to facilitate a series of meetings of an ad hoc group of consumer advisors who provided advice to MHDO on the new CompareMaine website, a tool to compare health care cost and quality options in Maine. We also provided complete reports of the meetings.

 

Maine Health Data Organization (MHDO) Board (2018)

The Maine Health Data Organization (MHDO) is a state agency that collects health care data for the purpose of research, policy development, and health care improvements. For the fifth year in a row we were hired to help plan and facilitate a retreat of MHDO Board members to reflect on the past year and plan for the future.

Maine Mobile Health Program (2018)

The Maine Mobile Health Program is a statewide farmworker health organization offering culturally appropriate mobile medical and nursing care and related services to patients at farmworker camps during blueberry, apple, egg, Christmas tree/wreath, and broccoli harvests, and beyond. The Maine Mobile Health Program partners with others to support the Maine Community Health Worker Stakeholder Group. We were hired to facilitate a strategic planning meeting for the Maine Community Health Worker Stakeholder Group to help the group develop a vision and identify top short-term priorities.

Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) (2018)

The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) is the oldest and largest state organic organization in the country. We were hired to facilitate a series of meetings to discuss plans for the MOFGA campus in Unity, Maine.

Maine Public (2019)

Maine Public (formerly known as the Maine Public Broadcasting Network) serves Maine and surrounding regions with radio, television, digital, and educational services. Craig helped Maine Public with some specialized consulting in the News and Public Affairs department.

Maine State Music Theatre (2018-2019)

Maine State Music Theatre is a non-profit performing arts organization.  It is committed to educating and training artists in theatre crafts; bringing professional musical theatre to the people of Maine. Each year the theatre presents a summer season of four fully staged musicals, several children’s musicals, and related special events.  We have been hired to work with the board on developing a strategic plan.

Maine Wilderness Watershed Trust (2018)

The Maine Wilderness Watershed Trust protects the character, resources and beauty of the Pierce Pond watershed (near Caratunk in western Maine) and preserves traditional public recreational use of the area. We were hired to facilitate a full-day board visioning retreat to help develop a future vision for the Trust.

MaineHousing (2018)

MaineHousing is an independent state agency that helps Maine people obtain and maintain quality affordable housing and services suitable to their housing needs.  We were hired to plan and facilitate a strategic planning retreat of the Statewide Homeless Council.

Midcoast Conservancy (2018)

Midcoast Conservancy protects and promotes healthy lands, waters, and communities through conservation, outdoor adventure, and learning. We were hired to plan and facilitate a board retreat for Midcoast Conservancy.

Muskie School of Public Service (2017-2018)

The Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine is Maine’s public policy school, delivering programs that educate leaders, inform policy and practice, and strengthen civic life. We were hired to plan and facilitate a strategic planning process for the Muskie School. The process included stakeholder interviews, a series of input meetings among faculty, board, chairs, directors, and others, and preparation of a draft strategic plan.

Oak Grove School Foundation (2017-2018)

The Oak Grove School Foundation was established after the sale of the Oak Grove-Coburn high school in Vassalboro, Maine and now provides grants to support the educational and cultural needs of students and nonprofit organizations in the greater Central Maine area. The Foundation also owns the historic Oak Grove Chapel – also known as the River Meeting House – and we were hired to plan and facilitate a series of meetings to help the Foundation’s board discuss the foundation’s role with regard to the historic building.

R.H. Foster (2018)

R.H. Foster Energy provides heating fuels and operates convenience stores throughout northeastern Maine. We were hired to plan and facilitate a full-day strategic planning retreat among members of the executive team. We also prepared a complete report of the retreat.

South Portland City Council (2018)

South Portland, Maine is an oceanfront city with population of 25,000, a community college, and diverse commercial and residential neighborhoods. As in the past, we were hired to facilitate an annual goal-setting workshop for the City Council.

Southwest Harbor Public Library (2018)

Since 1895 the Southwest Harbor Public Library on beautiful Mount Desert Island, Maine, has provided a place for the community to explore new ideas and pursue lifelong learning interests. We were hired to facilitate a board and staff retreat.

The Ecology School (2018)

Based on Ferry Beach in Saco, Maine, since 1998, The Ecology School has brought innovative ecology education programs to over 170,000 students through field trips, school science curriculums, and overnight and day camps. As the School was preparing to transition to a new site at River Bend Farm, we were hired to facilitate a public information and input meeting regarding River Bend Farm.

The International REC Standard (I-REC) (2018)

The International REC Standard, or I-REC, is an organization that provides a set of rules for how RECs — reliable electricity attribute tracking certificates — are issued, tracked, and redeemed worldwide. The I-REC board met in Harpswell, Maine, to discuss and make decisions about strategic issues, and they  hired us to plan and facilitate the meeting.

The Nature Conservancy in Maine (2018)

The Nature Conservancy has been working in Maine for 60 years to “conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.” We were hired to plan and facilitate a two-day board strategic planning retreat in Millinocket, Maine. We also prepared a complete report of the retreat, incorporating notes from a community partners panel discussion, a tour of regional trails, staff presentations, and board brainstorming sessions.

Unity College (2017-2018)

Unity College is a private, liberal arts, sustainability science-based college with an environmental focus, located in Unity, Maine. We were hired to plan and facilitate a full day retreat among members of Unity College’s Leadership Team. We also prepared a complete report and provide additional consulting services.

University of Maine Cooperative Extension (2018)

We were hired to facilitate a training workshop for Department Chairs and Directors at the University of Maine at Orono, the flagship campus of Maine’s state university system, founded in 1865. The purpose of the workshop was to build shared understanding of department-level strategic planning benefits and challenges.

University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (2017-2018)

In Portland and Biddeford, Maine, the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine trains students to become osteopathic physicians. To prepare for a University-wide strategic planning effort, the College of Osteopathic Medicine hired us to facilitate a series of department workshops and a leadership team retreat to discuss communications, workflow, and other topics.

Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce (2018)

The town of Winthrop, Maine (pop. ~ 6000) borders several lakeshores in beautiful central Maine. We were hired by the Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce to facilitate two community input sessions to help develop a vision for downtown Winthrop.

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff / PACTS Multimodal Priority Corridor and Centers Planning (2017-2018)

Portland Area Comprehensive Transportation System (PACTS) coordinates transportation planning and investment decisions among state, municipal, and public transportation organizations for the greater Portland, Maine region. PACTS hired the engineering firm WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff to develop a multimodal transportation corridor plan in Portland and South Portland. We partnered with WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff to provide stakeholder input facilitation and related services for the project.
